Install Cash Drawer printer object for Lightspeed EVO

Verify the COM port the cash drawer is attached to
Add Cash Drawer printer object
1. Open Control Panel \ Devices and Printers
2. Add Printer - no need to wait for it to search, click the "The printer that I want isn't listed" link at the bottom
3. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, click Next
4. Select Use an existing port, use the drop-down to select the COM port the cash drawer is attached to, click Next
5. Select Manufacturer: Generic and Printer: Generic /Text Only, click Next
6. Enter Cash Drawer in the Printer name field, click Next
7. Click Do not share this printer, click Next
8. Click Finish
Test the cash drawer by opening a CMD window and executing the command below
- echo ^G^G^G > comX
- ^G is CTRL+g, the X is the number of the cash drawer COM port
- If the drawer pops, continue to the next step
- if the drawer does not pop verify the COM port number and drawer DIP switch settings
Set up the cash drawer in EVO
1. Log into EVO using an admin account (such as GRANTZ)
2. Click Tools > Workstations
3. Select the workstation profile that matches the system you're setting up the cash drawer on
4. For each of the Cash Drawer printer options use the drop down to select the Cash Drawer printer
5. Save
Test and confirm that the cash drawer works as expected.
